As a longtime listener, I couldn’t help but imagine a whole new visual identity that matched the bold, mysterious, and slightly cheeky energy of the stories they tell. So I took on a rebrand as a passion project, steering the aesthetic into an Art Deco inspired modern direction. This redesign is all about reimagining their brand as something that feels like the story you’re dying to binge.

Original Branding
First, I wanted to dive into the original branding to better understand how The Dating Detectives currently presents itself. While the existing look has a casual, approachable feel, I saw an opportunity to push the visual identity further to match the podcast’s unique blend of true crime, private investigation, romance, and drama. Analyzing the current style helped me identify what was working and where there was room to evolve the brand into something more bold, stylized, and narratively aligned.
Reimagined Identity
For the redesign, I leaned into a stylized Art Deco aesthetic with a modern twist, drawing inspiration from the same era that birthed classic noir detective films. The goal was to elevate the brand by capturing the intrigue, elegance, and drama of vintage private investigation, while still appealing to contemporary audiences. Clean geometric lines, bold typography, and a refined color palette bring a sense of structure and sophistication, while nods to classic detective motifs keep the playful, mysterious spirit alive. This updated identity is meant to feel cinematic, dramatic, and distinctive, aligning perfectly with a podcast that blends romance, mystery, and true crime storytelling.
